Evangel House Academy or "Teen Challenge of Acadiana", as it was known it's first 5 years was birthed through First Assembly in 1995 with Bobby and Shannon Richard as the Directors. Mark and Karen Barrentine became the Executive Directors in 1999 and have continued to see many lives changed.Evangel House Academy is a residential program, designed to help deal with behavior problems, drug or alcohol abuse, family problems, poor school performance, and legal problems for troubled teen girls ages 12-18. Mark, Karen and the Staff provide professional Christian counseling, a structured home and school environment, and a Biblically based coping skills curriculum in a long term (12-18 month) group home setting. They are currently based in St Martinville, LA. and it is a blessing to see the girls involved in church activities on a weekly basis.
